Last night in Gorinchem 1031

What a wonderful evening it was in 't Pand last night and this shows there's still (a lot of)live in TWO old dogs. Also Laurens although much younger ;-) fits in perfectly.
This sounds like the old Magna from the seventies. Beautiful songs, lots of fun, plus two surprises: (a song by George and his Jenny and Hans Veen on Chris's new guitar)
We're looking forward to the next tour!! D&L

Dear Chris, George and Laurens

In my many years as a stage technician was again a great intimate experience of music performances.
Except linked monitors and a broken cable, I am glad that everything was successful. I sure hope you meet again.
Chris, will you shake my hand back pass to Patrick Stewart? I'm a big fan of his. He knows me not, of course, but that's how he would even know the name of a simple scene technician from the gate of the theater Ekehaar Dam.

personal story 1021

This is a story of how music of Magna Carta can influence oneís life and how unpredictable the roads of life can be.

When Janneke and I fell in love with each other in 1977 music was a very important part of our life. One of the favourites of Janneke was Magna Carta and of course within a short time it became mine as well. After nine months our relationship stopped, not because we didnít love each other but because Janneke wanted to take another turn on the road then I. The following years we saw each other now and then. In 1983 I moved to a place down south and the contact was broken for a very long time. I got married and my wife was influenced by the music of Magna Carta as well.

11 May 2009 there was a farewell concert in Carre and of course I should be there to see Magna Carta live ones. During this concert, especially during lord of the ages, minds wandered to Janneke and the time we spent together. In January 2011 Janneke and I met each other again due to the mysterious roads of life and the flame appears still to be burning. I got divorced and music began to be a bigger part of my life again. Janneke and I made contact again with my best friend and soulmate John, with who I lost contact as well since many years. It was with him we discovered that Magna Carta had started touring again and this would be the opportunity to go a concert together with Janneke.

And so we had this wonderful performance in this nice little theatre in Maassluis and got the opportunity to talk to the man who wrote such beautiful songs about the mysterious roads of life. We sure had a great evening!

Janneke and I want to thank Chris for his great lyrics and music and being part of our life. We are sure our winding roads will cross each other again.
