Interview with Music Maker - 6th May

Matt Barnhoorn writes - Hello to you all out there.

The first write up in 2007 in Dunglish (I wonder if the Oxford has picked up on this word, yet). And what a story I've got to tell you! Let's start at the beginning.

After the first concert on Saturday, we celebrated the Sunday morning as a 'Hebden Sunday Morning' - doing absolutely nothing.

After a quick look in the cupboards, we discovered that we didn't have any cookies to serve with the coffee. So to save our skins I jumped on Chris' bike to the nearest gas station.

I was back just before Bert and Raymond, the journalist and photographer for the Music Maker, came to our cabin.

We had a coffee WITH cookies and a great chat before we started the interview. Then we started the interview. Bert asked very interesting questions. Which went right across the board from the early days of Magna Carta to the young talents from nowadays.

In places it got really funny, as Chris and Linda both seemed to have a block on names of all kind of new artists. In the end it was like playing the game Hints - 'his names sounds like...', 'she's that Redneck girl. Come on... tatatatatá', and 'what was that song they played the other week on the radio? Matt, you were there...'.

In the end Linda said: "Well, it's not that we don't like new artists, it's just that we can't remember their names".

It was great fun.

After the interview we all had a beer and then headed for the dunes just behind the bungalow park, to shoot some pictures.

Chris decided he'd go on his bicycle. He put on his 'Clint Eastwood'-style sunglasses and disappear. Only to reappear a couple minutes later, riding in the opposite direction, franticly waving in a rock star sort of way. Once we reached the dunes the photo camera came out. We had a great time, so if Raymond has got one good picture, I'd be surprised.

I don't doubt his photography skills, just our photogenic qualities.

Anyway, after the photoshoot we said goodbye to Bert and Raymond, as they had to do another interview. That was an end to a lovely afternoon.
