Linda Simpson writes - This time we didn't have to be there until 2pm so there was no grumping about in the morning - we whistled, we sang, we had breakfast... and coffee... and more coffee.
I hardly drink coffee at home but 'When in Rome...'.
Last time we were at Radio Brabant, Chris was in story telling mode and we spent a long time in the canteen after the show, shooting the breeze.
This time we arrived to find that Peter (the sound technician) was recording another band first, so we were not needed for another 40 minutes. We went to the canteen to find that the café was closed - but we could still sit and have a coffee. It is rather nice with its terrace outside and, even though it's in the middle of an industrial estate, it also had a little lake and a sculpture to look at. We did manage to work out the vending machines and microwave so we had a coffee and a sort of sausage each... not the height of fine cuisine but better than nothing.
By the time we'd finished, the sound room was free so we set up and did the sound check.
I was impressed that Peter was so well informed about the music of the 60s and 70s and he was also very proficient when it came to setting up the sound. We have not yet had the recording sent to us but we did hear it in the studio and it was good.
Hubert was great - Chris and Matt did the interview this time - two naughty boys again. Chris was making Matt laugh when the poor boy was trying to answer questions - but it was a good interview and the songs went well too.
Hubert's other guest was Sonja Dover - a medium, and I was rather sorry that my Dutch is so poor as I would have liked to hear what she had to say.
By 4pm we were on our way home, but we didn't get back until after 6pm and then we had to go in search of a supermarket. By the time we'd finished it was 8pm - and another day was gone!!
